The Art of Qi with Cynthia
Believe in something greater.
Know anything is possible.
Never give up.
It is my goal and mission to help people of all ages and abilities progress on a path towards wellness through self-healing by using several ancient and modern healing systems including Tai Chi, Qigong, Yoga, Sound Work, and Life Couching.
Tai Chi and Qigong
Tai Chi is a type of Qigong: “Qi” means energy, and “gong” means work or mastery. Like “yoga”, there is a range from gentle to athletic. “Tai Chi” falls in the middle, blending the two extremes for balance and harmony. The definition of Tai Chi (or Taiji) is “extreme” or “ultimate.” Because it is a balanced practice, it is considered the “extreme ultimate” practice. Hence the name “Tai Chi.”
Qigong consists of slow moving or more meditative exercises (which can be done standing, sitting or even laying down – perfect for warming up or slowing down).
The Tai Chi Form is created by linking together various Tai Chi Postures, which are single movements like “Harmonize Yin and Yang” (Part Wild Horse’s Mane) or “Brush Knee send Qi.” (Brush Knee Push step). These postures are linked together by transitions. A Form may include 1 Posture with an “Opening” and a “Closing” or as many as 108 Postures.
Hailed by Harvard Medical School as “Medication in Motion,” Tai Chi and Qigong are valued as preventative practices for many health problems, including joint pain, muscle tension, anxiety, insomnia and more. It also helps build better balance and resilience.
In-Person and Zoom Classes
Classes are based on Integral Tai Chi developed by Dr. Roger Jahnke of the Institute of Integral Qigong and Tai Chi. This is an integration of many styles of Tai Chi. The form is designed to be easy to learn and practice, while staying relaxed and in the Qigong state where healing can happen.
I teach in-person at Princeton Fitness and Wellness as well as Zoom classes online from Sun and Moon Studio and also in my home studio.
The Art of Sound: Creating Vibrational Harmony
Everything in the universe vibrates at its own frequency, and when our natural resonance falls out of harmony it can lead to stress, illness, and imbalance. Sound Baths (Sound Journeys) and Sound Massages are expertly facilitated with Tibetan singing bowls, crystal bowls, gongs, chimes and flutes to restore vibrational harmony. Soothing vibrations help to reduce tension, boost well-being and promote deep relaxation where healing can take place.

Hi, I'm Cynthia
In the early 90’s I was diagnosed with an auto-immune system dysfunction which caused chronic pain, inflammation, fatigue, depression and anxiety. Western medicine practices did not bring relief and came with a variety of side effects. Eventually I began to look elsewhere for help. Fortunately, somewhere along my path I developed a belief in something greater, a feeling that anything is possible and the strength to never give up. I’ve also found that it takes hard work and and a supportive community to grow and learn and that everyone has something to share.
