The Art of Sound

Creating Vibrational Harmony

“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration.” ~ Nikola Tesla

“From the electrons moving around in the nucleus of an atom, to planets in distant galaxies spinning around the sun – they’re all moving, vibrating, and creating a sound.” ~ Jonathan Goodman

The Healing Power of Vibration and Sound

Every living being (in fact, everything in the universe) is in a state of vibration. This means that every part of you from your organs to your bones, to your tissues, to the fluid in your cells, to the electromagnetic field around your body has a healthy vibrational frequency.

When you’re out of harmony with a part of yourself or your environment, the resonance of your vibratory frequency can drop. This dissonance can cause disease and stress and over time chronic illness and other imbalances. Using a variety of instruments and vibrational frequencies may help clear dissonance and energy blocks in your biofield and body… restoring you to a healthy vibratory frequency. Helping to transform your overall well-being from inside out.

Sound, Resonance and Harmonics

Sound, resonance and harmonics have been used in both healing and sacred performance, since ancient times (as pure tones, chants, mantras, drumming and as music and song). In recent times, science has found that many therapies in sound, resonance, and harmonics have helped to equalize brain waves, increase the depth of breathing, slow the heart-beat and pulse, lower blood pressure, reduce muscle tension, increase circulation and endorphin production, boost immune function, improve memory and learning, increase endurance and productivity, strengthen digestion and decrease depression…what the Ancients knew all along.

SOUND BATHS (Sound Journeys)

Experience the state of deep relaxation that is already there inside waiting for you, when you let go of tension and stress. Relax, get comfortable in your own home or at my Princeton studio. Snuggle in with your favorite person or stuffed animal and take an hour to tune in and be soothed by sound

According to Eastern ideas humans were created out of sound, i.e.they are sound. If humans are “in tune” with themselves and their environment, then they can arrange their lives freely and creatively. Sound journeys may be personalized and will include a variety of sounds and frequencies from Tibetan and Crystal singing bowls, Chimes, Rainmakers, Gongs, Native American flute and guided meditation.

SOUND MASSAGE

Offered at my studio in Princeton

Experience soothing vibrations directly on the (clothed) body. Specially designed instruments, particularly Himalayan singing bowls, are placed on or around the body. The gentle sounds and rhythmic pulsations from these instruments create vibrations that travel through the body, resonating with every cell. This internal massage may help to release energetic blockages, promote cell renewal, release tension, and induce a deep state of relaxation often described as an alpha state, ultimately supporting the body’s natural self-healing capabilities. It is a great massage alternative for those who are sensitive to touch!

This past Christmas, I gave my wife and two daughters a one-hour session of healing sounds by Cynthia and her singing bowls. It was heavenly. Peaceful. Deeply relaxing. But also aesthetically energizing.

And it’s not just the sound of bowls. Cynthia also gives you other pleasant sounds woven in and around the bowls: wind chimes, rain-stick, Native American flute, and her gentle, melodious voice.

Try as I may, I really can’t adequately describe what healing sounds is like—you’ll just have to experience it yourself.

Give it as a gift to a loved one, or a friend facing a serious life crisis. Or invite several folks over for tea and singing bowls. Or give yourself an individual healing session of sound massage. It will bowl you over, so to speak…and you will feel the vibrations in your body for some time.
